Death of Mr. Maurice Opinel Knife, President of the company opinel knife
Mr Maurice Opinel Knife, grandson of the founder of the company named after, died on 17 August 2016 in chambery.
Born On 5 October 1927 to cognin in the outskirts of chambéry, it integrates the company in 1950 and 30 September 1974 succeeds his father marcel to the chair of the board of directors.
Joseph Opinel Knife creates the famous eponymous pocket knife in 1890 to albiez old in Savoy. As early as 1916 the company opinel knife sets in as close as possible to the major channels of communication to cognin, near chambery.
It is here that is born his grandson Maurice in 1927.
After his baccalaureate, Maurice Opinel Knife joined his father marcel and his uncle Leon to the direction of the family business. It is with this last he acquires in particular experience in the field commercial both on the French market that export markets with distributors in the whole world. In 1952, he married josette death which will give him three children, Denis, Brigitte and françois.

He is joined by his son denis in 1976, the latter leader currently society. The Capital of the company is fully controlled by the family through a holding company where are the children of Mr Maurice Opinel Knife and her grandchildren Matthew, Clement and Hugo.
Maurice Opinel Knife has occupied functions to the chamber of commerce for many years as a vice-President in charge of the continuous training as well as in the employer s\’ Organization Department. He was also a member of the economic and social council regional.
He was decorated with the legion of honour in 1989.
